Let’s get rich and everybody nice sweaters and teach them how to dance…
Oh Ingrid.
How you know me so well.
This is my feeling all the time. And this song makes me so happy and wishful for one day. I would love to have the opportunity to buy my parents a house in France, much less help them pay for their current one, or buy our own, or even travel around the world, or to California to meet my Nephew but alas, I’m stuck in this little place of Chicago.
I don’t know what makes me think of this. Probably because at work this morning everyone was talking about how relieved they were that “Dooms Day” was extended until April 18th this year. Y
You know…tax day?
Anyways, a lot of people in our store’s area wind up paying a lot in taxes which I find interesting because I always get something back. And even though I can’t buy nice homes in France, or even go to California at my beck and call (is that how that saying goes? Tehee) I am still on my way to working out my debt and getting us back on the road to making money instead of spending it.
I don’t know if I mentioned it before but Hubs and I got the FPU (Financial Peace University) system a while back, and while we haven’t been diligent with continuing it because we wanted to make sure that we had our savings in tack from lesson 1, we have still pondered it which each passing faze we go through together.
So, I guess what I’m sayin is….
and I am saying something…
I just have to work out what it is first…
Oh right, what I’m saying is that I may never be able to do expensive and nice things, but I think someday if we’re smart with our money, April 15th will never be daunting to us, it will always be exciting and we’ll be able to come one step closer to maybe one of those dreams.
Oh tax time.
How you vex us all.

Mom says:
Oh, my dear, but if you’re smart with money and save 15% every pay period, and spend less than you make, you will indeed have money to spend wisely. Remember, “Live like no one else, so you can LIVE like no one else!” It’s a principle that works. I’m proud of you 2 for doing the hard work to stay out of debt and then never get in debt! You won’t be sorry.
Oh, and btw, where are you today???
