The Mom’s In My Life

Monday, May 9th, 2011

These foxy cleopatra’s are the most important mommies in my life. (Not pictured are my grandmothers who are also part of that title)

My mommy is the beautiful blonde on the left in the first picture. She is a charming, patient, encouraging and supportive lady. I don’t know how my life or even my marriage would be with out her in it to give guiding, honest and loving words. Next to her is my mother in law who I love with all my heart. She is so sweet and caring, investing and considerate. She has always been a confiding ear for me and has never made me feel like I didn’t belong in the Marshall gang.

My sweet sister is a new mom and this is her first mother’s day! It’s so exciting to see the woman she grows into every day. She is a great inspiration and paves the way for this little sister of hers. She is brave, patient and selfless. That handsome little fella and her handsome tall fella are real lucky .

Anywhoo. I just wanted you to know who matters to me.

My First Ever Successful Surprise!

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

So I’ve been planning this surprise for over a month now. I’ve been itching to tell you all about it, but I couldn’t let the cat out of the bag. I was so busy up until last weekend getting ready that I barely realized that my master plan was about to come to fruition (big word, I know).

My surprise included

A plane.

A state on the Pacific Ocean.

A surprised sister.

She is sexy fine.

A happy husband.

Picture pending.

And a baby.

(The one you actually want to see because babies make the world a happier place for everyone. Not that my sister and her sweet man don’t, because they definitely make my world happier, but if they drooled or had food all over their faces we probably wouldn’t “ooh” and “ahh” at them. Right? And let’s face it. Babies who are a mess are even cuter me thinks.)

Oh…oh you wanted to see his picture too?

This was right after I had just met him. We hung on the couch and watched Baby Einstein and he laughed a lot. Best wake up present ever.

Oh.

Oh. you want more?

I can arrange that.

Be prepared for baby madness….

Just sayin’.

If you don’t think babies are cute…well then, we just can’t be friends and you should just read elsewhere.

If you do think babies are cute, we can be best friends.

Because really, how can you look at this face and not think babies are cute. Especially when they have a little dried scum on their face and are still laughing. Personally, I wouldn’t still be laughing. But again, the adult vs baby thing going on here.

I die.

Funny story. When we were at the park I saw some other 6-7 month old little ladies checking my sweet Nephew out in his sexy black shirt. They giggled, they cooed, the blushed. It was quite a sight to see. But I couldn’t blame them you know. His generation is just so lucky.

Ok not really, so I was just anticipating their reactions. A couple…several…plethora of years in advance. But let me tell you. He’s a heart stopper.

hmm.

welp.

Now my heart hurts because I ain’t with the sucker.

But who knows that is in store.

I stressed out Hubs when I told him that San Diego looked like it could use another couple in it. They are in need of a little Marshall in their culture.

Anywho.

Soon I will post some more fantastic pictures (if I do say so myself…and I do) of my trip including an awesome little photo shoot with the whole family at the park which turned out swimmingly.

Let’s Get Rich And Buy Our Parent’s Homes in the South of France

Friday, April 15th, 2011

Let’s get rich and everybody nice sweaters and teach them how to dance…

Oh Ingrid.

How you know me so well.

This is my feeling all the time. And this song makes me so happy and wishful for one day. I would love to have the opportunity to buy my parents a house in France, much less help them pay for their current one, or buy our own, or even travel around the world, or to California to meet my Nephew but alas, I’m stuck in this little place of Chicago.

I don’t know what makes me think of this. Probably because at work this morning everyone was talking about how relieved they were that “Dooms Day” was extended until April 18th this year. Y

You know…tax day?

Anyways, a lot of people in our store’s area wind up paying a lot in taxes which I find interesting because I always get something back. And even though I can’t buy nice homes in France, or even go to California at my beck and call (is that how that saying goes? Tehee) I am still on my way to working out my debt and getting us back on the road to making money instead of spending it.

I don’t know if I mentioned it before but Hubs and I got the FPU (Financial Peace University) system a while back, and while we haven’t been diligent with continuing it because we wanted to make sure that we had our savings in tack from lesson 1, we have still pondered it which each passing faze we go through together.

So, I guess what I’m sayin is….

and I am saying something…

I just have to work out what it is first…

Oh right, what I’m saying is that I may never be able to do expensive and nice things, but I think someday if we’re smart with our money, April 15th will never be daunting to us, it will always be exciting and we’ll be able to come one step closer to maybe one of those dreams.

Oh tax time.

How you vex us all.
