Thanksgiving.

I am trying not to go all out for Thanksgiving.

It was just going to be the two of us for dinner.

But then we invited a couple people we knew would be sticking around from our church.

Then we invited a couple more.

And they are all bringing food. Which is great.

But you know. Then I felt like I still needed to make a couple necessities.

And since I don’t have a baby room to decorate, I’ve become quite the baker.

SO.

Here’s the menu:

I’m making the turkey, with a Pioneer Woman brine recipe.  It’s amazing.

I’m making my mother-in-law’s cheesecake. I’ll add the recipe and pictures here today.

I’m making a basic pumpkin pie. I can give you that recipe too…but it’s pretty much the one on the can :-)

I’m making my Momma’s stuffing. It’s with a seasoning you can only get in New England.

I’m making mashed taters….most basic kind.

I bought brie in philo dough from Trader Joe’s and we’ll have that for an appetizer.

I am considering also making some mini-quiches because I love them and because I have a really cute pan to put them in.

The other guests are bringing mashed sweet potatoes, green beans, brussel sprouts, drinks, and other goodies. I’m super excited.

So I work tomorrow from 7-3:30pm and then booking it over here to get a good shower and prepare for the festivities. I told everyone that I would need to hit the hay a little early because of this little life growing in me and I’ll be quite pooped.

So that is the long and the short of it.

I’m rather excited.
