So there is a company that I’ve read about through this awesome photographer, Jodie. I’ve know about Jodie and her awesome photography through this blogger, Katie, who I consider a swell and close friend. Katie and her band man hubby Russ (Fundamental Elements) adopted the cutest little fella you ever did see and Jodie has taken the coolest pictures of them.
So anyways, Jodie volunteers for this organization called “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.” I don’t know tons about this organization just because it does have a level of censorship to it. The volunteer photographers work with families who are about to or have lost a baby, usually during child birth. It’s so intense, incredibly emotional and I really want to be a part of it. I think that it’s important for parents to have a chance to remember their little one. It’s so hard, and I’ve read several photographer’s explain the impact some situations have on their lives and I feel like, if I’m able to have a passion for children, support their memories with tender photos that remind them about their little one’s short life, and empathize with them through tears and prayers, than I should be a part of it.
NILMDTS does have a rigorous application process because they require complete discretion and strategic and professional photography, so I think it’ll be a while before I can fully aspire to this.
Anyways…I just wanted to share that with you and see what you thought. Have you ever known anyone who’s been impacted by this organization?
To read a post that Jodie shared about one family who’s become close to her through this organization click here. This story impacted me quite a bit and gave me the first desire to be part of this ministry and support team.

Hey – you don’t know me….but I work at Vulcan in Birmingham and got to know Naph while he was here a couple of years ago…anyhow, we are friends on facebook and I saw his post about your blog today – so I took a look.
I know of several families who have had NILMDTS volunteers with work them to capture those precious few moments they had with their children. Seeing the pictures captured and reading/hearing about how much the photographer blessed them is amazing.
I think it’s fantastic that you are looking into this organization. I have a passion for photography, but am not great…but if I were I think this is something I would be interested in too. Good luck with it.
By the way, I love the look and feel of your blog!
